Need a New Rig?

Don't you wish you could park your rig like that?

This is a 1974 video, apparently. I've never heard of it, so can only assume that it was not a business success.

But it is a great idea!!!

Play the Piano?

Here's a great opportunity for someone familiar with electronic pianos to help a fellow resident and probably have a little fun. Here's a note I received today:

Help! Have a new electronic Yamaha piano and need help getting started, used to play the accordion 50 years ago, willing to pay for lessons, Lot 138. Or call 906-984-4115

Pat has an electronic piano at home. Actually, it is a computer which has been packaged to look like a piano. It's amazing what those instruments will do! We also have a computer which looks like a Ford F-350. Everything is a computer these days! 'Spose that's why no one can fix 'em?

On Pat's computer/piano, you can push a button and hear the Whop Whop Whop sound of a helicopter! We use that at home, to remind us of the helicopters here at Rockport 35 RV Park!

Valentine's Day Dinner

Last Saturday, we had a great Valentine's Day dinner in the clubhouse!

Chef Tony, aided by Allison and chef-in-training Bob, provided a delicious meal. And a talented jazz pianist provided great background music for the evening.

I tried to get pictures of all attendees, but missed at least one couple—for which I apologize. You can see all the pictures at this Picasa site: http://picasaweb.google.com/KeithArdenW/2010ValentineSDayDinner#
I suggest that you click on "Slideshow" just above the upper left picture. Then it will run through all the pictures automatically.

Photos, 4 x 6 size, are available for each couple pictured. They'll be available for you to pick up (no charge) at the wine tasting Wednesday, the friendship dinner Thursday, or in the office.

Most pictures are pretty good. However, I thought the one of Walter and Ruth did a great job of showing the charm which this couple exhibits so chose it to post.

Woodcarver's Had Successful Show

Last weekend, the Coastal Bend Woodcarvers held their first show. It was a resounding success!

Carvers from Rockport 35 RV Park were well represented and well supported by their friends and neighbors from the park.

Gordon received a blue ribbon for his relief carving, shown at the right. J.W. received a red and a yellow ribbon on two of his projects. And John's elephant (photo at top) received a blue ribbon.

Judging was on a points system. Judging at this show was extremely tight, according to experienced exhibitors. Great projects which have garnered high scores at other shows scored significantly lower at this show. This makes those who received ribbons even more thrilled with the results, as they were harder to achieve.

Gordon and Janet helped with the arrangements for the show, as did J.W. and Anne. J.W. took photos of all entries which were awarded ribbons.

Next Thursday at the Thursday evening Friendship Dinner and again at the Saturday morning breakfast there will be "show and tell." I suspect some, if not all, of the prize-winning entries will be displayed there.

"Official" Rainfall Report

My trusty John Deere Weather Station, the "official" weather reporting site for Rockport 35 RV Park (well, at least for Site 80 at said park) shows 1.4 inches of rain this week.

No snow was recorded.
