I know it’s
been awhile since the last posting, but in this case, no news IS good
news. Dick finished his antibiotic
regime for the MRSA virus and follow up blood work shows that it is gone and his hemoglobin continues to increase.
Today, he
starts taking Nexavar for his liver cancer. It is chemo, in pill form, and has
had a much better success rate for liver cancer than regular chemo
therapy. Of course, it comes with a list
of “not so nice” side effects, as do most serious medications. He will start with 3 pills a day and,
depending on how well it is tolerated, the dosage will be increased or
decreased. Also, they
will have continued phone support from health care specialists to help manage
side effects as well as providing encouragement and support and answering
questions as they arise.
Dick and
Lucille would like to thank everyone for the cards and phone calls that keep
them connected to the Rockport 35 Park family. Speaking of
the park family -- we hope all is well with everyone in your home towns and as
you travel out and about our great country.
Enjoy, have fun, be safe.
